Metaphysical Starting Point
Metaphysical Starting Point (Runtime Declaration)
Every physical theory eventually reaches a metaphysical boundary. Pretending otherwise merely hides it.
Rather than smuggling metaphysics in later, we state our boundary conditions explicitly and work forward with intellectual honesty.
Our Core Presupposition
We assume that physical reality operates within a pre-established runtime — not a self-compiling universe. The laws, structures, and constraints of reality are not emergent from nothing, but are already in force.
We are not modelling the compiler (ultimate origin or cause of the runtime).
We are modelling the runtime itself — the rules, structures, and behaviors that govern physical phenomena once existence is underway.
Key Boundary Conditions
A substrate exists
- Physical phenomena require a continuous underlying medium.
- Absolute “nothingness” cannot support causation, propagation, or structure.
The substrate is geometrically constrained
- Reality is not arbitrary; it is rule-bound.
- Geometry precedes particles, forces, and fields.
Energy is not a substance
- Energy is a state of the substrate, not a thing stored inside matter.
Matter is not fundamental
- Stable structures emerge from configurations of the substrate.
Time is emergent
- Time arises from ordered reconfiguration, not from an independent dimension.
Metaphysics is acknowledged, not weaponized
- We do not claim to explain ultimate origin.
- We explicitly operate within a created, constrained physical runtime.
These assumptions are not hidden.
They are the starting line, not the finish.
